If you have a Google account that is linked to the Google Plus social networking and e-mail service Gmail will sökjätten soon make your name available for e-mailing. This therefore means that there is no need an email address to a person who has an account on Google Plus, but only its name there.
It was on Thursday that Google launched an update is called “Email via Google +”, with which it is sending emails in Gmail by typing in a name of a person.
Anyone using Google Plus and Gmail will update in a few days, and you have yourself go in and change the settings for Gmail if you want to limit the emails that can be sent to you (see picture below).
Your email address is exposed, however, for the person who will be sent only when you reply to an email that has been sent in your name.
It’s not the first time Google makes updates that you must actively unsubscribe from. The same was true for the social network Buzz, which was launched a few years ago, but that did not become someone successful history of Google. And last, it was your name and face in ads, if you’ve liked or commented on a brand through Google, you have to actively set for it not to appear.
