It shows a study with over 1,000 inspected cars from 2002 onwards. Eleven percent of the cars had some kind of remark on the cushion and 19 percent had abnormalities in the brake system.
– It is quite remarkable results, we did not believe themselves that the error rate could be as high in the safety systems we checked in, said Magnus Moberg, Production Manager at Inspect Vehicle Inspection, who is behind the study.
Modern cars is more or less like rolling computers with many components. To check the electronics behind the security systems are not included in the regular health inspection, but it may be purchased as an additional service.
reasons behind the error codes, or remarks, varies.
For example, it be a sensor that stopped working, which ultimately may mean that safety systems are not working properly in a crash.
– It’s not something you notice in normal operation, but the defect is a safety hazard. You take for granted that everything works which inspire a false sense of security, says Moberg.
