Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo is leaving his post after 23 years after a dispute with the Fiat boss Sergio Marchionne.
Marchionne spoke at the weekend critical that Ferrari do not won the Formula-1 in seven years, despite costly investments in competing. On this criticism di Montezemolo replied confidently that he would not resign prematurely but remain in office until the contract expires 2017th
Sergio Marchionne commented later that “he would himself not to have replied,” and recalled that “nobody is irreplaceable.”
And this morning came the news di Montezemolo to leave the company in mid-October. Whoever takes over is just Sergio Marchionne.
As a manager in the Fiat-controlled Ferrari, he can now better control so that better synergy with brands in the group, which also includes the Chrysler.
Marchionne wants to equip the “nobler” brands, such as Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa-Romeo and the Jeep, so that they generate more profit than in everyday brands like Fiat, Chrysler and Dodge.
