ThyssenKrupp tire of submarines – New Technology

Thyssen Krupp seems to have tired of submarines for Saab purchase by Kockums and talks with a buyer of German submarines in Kiel.

It’s Handelsblatt that on Friday reveals that military equipment manufacturer Rheinmetall showing interest TKMS, ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems, which also included Kockums before Saab bought out the company last summer.

The German part of TKMS, where the main activity consists of submarine shipyard in Kiel, former HDW, should the newspaper interest Rheinmetall, whose president Armin Papperger reportedly already in talks with ThyssenKrupp.

Any business would, according to Handelsblatt funded by Rheinmetall sells its department for production of components for automotive industry, which would fit in Thyssen Krupp’s other services.

Handelsblatt reports that the Rheinmetall also interested in the two arms manufacturers Airbus Group , Optronics and Atlas Elektronik. Airbus boss Tom Enders has previously hinted that Airbus may dispose of munitions manufacturing in Germany.
