Bus route 204 in Berlin served from next year of induction-charged electric buses.

This makes Berlin the first European capital to get a elbusslinje, loaded cable loose. Transport company BVG and the Technical University of Berlin will total approximately EUR 4 million in state aid to drive the bus line, which runs between Bahnhof Zoology Garten to Bahnhof Südkreutz, totaling 6.1 km.

Four 12-meter buses of the Solaris Urbino 12 Electric will be used. They are of similar type used in Dusseldorf, with drivetrain from Vossloh Kiepe.

But Berlin buses fitted with the Bombardier system for induction charging, Primove , which is used for both trams and electric buses.

At the terminals there are charging system with 200 kW capacity, which charges the battery enough for the 6 km long journey in a few minutes. The battery has capacity 90 kWh.

The charging station located at Bahnhof Zoo being built on land next to the library of Technical University of Berlin. The charging station is administered by the University, which also has the opportunity to conduct research projects on elbussverksamheten.

As research extends operations to summer 2016 Then plan transport company BVG for further use of electric buses in city traffic.
