The boulders at the pyramids were transported to the site by using the logs that made them into twelve gons. It believes American scientists after testing the new method.

Great Pyramid is the largest of them all. Constructed of 2.3 million stone blocks, each weighing 2500 kg, it has long been the focus of speculation about how the pyramids were actually built. Not least because the stones moved two kilometers from the quarry where they were broken.

Now, American scientists claim that they may have figured out how the Egyptians bar differ. The physicist Joseph West at Indiana State University, along with two colleagues tested a new method that makes it relatively easy to move the square stone blocks. By means of logs are the square blocks into twelve polygons. The trick gives a friction coefficient of 0.2 and makes it possible to scroll the square blocks with human power.

method has been tested up using 30 kg heavy concrete blocks (40 cm x 19.6 cm x 20 cm). On each side of the blocks was tied round wooden sticks, assembled in three and three, tied with ropes. Dowels transformed block to a tolvhörning. Then measuring the force required to move the rock forward. According to scientists, the technology works even for very large boulders, but in terms of “dowels” have the right diameter. For the largest blocks means the logs with a diameter of 30 cm. It is reported to be the same diameter as the masts of the ships that sailed the Nile had the Pharaonic period.

The new method was tested on three types of substrates: sand, gravel and grass.
