Automaker BMW starts to ship the car components factory in Munich to the logistics company Scherm with a 40-tonne electric truck.
The lorry, from Dutch Terberg, has been test-run in Munich and, from July 7 put into regular traffic between the BMW factory and Scherms logistics center in the city for the transportation of various automotive components.
Åtta trips per day, the truck fell. The car has been fully charged, a range of 100 km, which is enough for one day of transport. Charging takes between three and four hours.
Compared to a diesel truck of the same size, the electric truck to save the emission of 11.8 tons of carbon dioxide per year. The current used for charging the truck will come exclusively from renewable sources, according to BMW.
