The attackers struck by a wheel loader.

After having forced the wall to The Phone House in Sickla shopping center they fled from the scene – and chased now by police.

– You’re talking about six or seven masked perpetrators, says John Larsson, officers at the Stockholm police länskommunikationscentral.

At 23:36 on Wednesday evening, Police warned that masked perpetrators drove in with a wheel through a wall of The Phone House premises in Sickla shopping center in Nacka.

After having entered the premises left culprits place with two different vehicles.

According to witness statements to the police dealing with over a handful of culprits.

– You’re talking about six or seven masked perpetrators. It’s a bit strange that there are so many. Most likely, they have resorted to anything inside the premises and investigation for aggravated theft is initiated, said John Larsson, officers at the Stockholm police länskommunikationscentral.



Hunting by helicopter

One of getaway cars to be a silver Audi hatchback. Police currently has no knowledge of the model for the second getaway car.

After midnight lasted hunt for the culprits.

– We have had a helicopter in the air and the OOW decided early on that spike mats were used in the appropriate locations if you would discover the vehicle. But we have not done. The search is ongoing but at a reduced scale, said John Larsson.



Witness: Went very quickly

The watchman Bjorn was first on the scene and became an eyewitness to the theft.

– I heard the bang and took me to the place. When I got there they stood and loaded carton after carton into their cars. “Work, work” and “Aina” (slang for police, editor’s note.) Screamed and ran away so quickly from there that it was not possible to see the registration. It went very quickly. Everything was over in four to five minutes, he said.



Roped Off for technical examination

While the hunt continued cordoned the scene of a technical examination.

– We are there and work and should also see if there are any cameras in place that could have caught something, says John Larsson, officers at the Stockholm police länskommunikationscentral.

At 03 o’clock, the police had suspended the hunt for the culprits. Instead, the emphasis is now on securing the track.
