Here’s the tanker that collided with the M / S Stena Jutlandica | News … – Aftonbladet

The boat had 12 000 tonnes of diesel and petrol on board when it collided with a passenger ferry in the night.

Now investigates tanker company collision.

– I do not want to speculate on the debt issue, but I do not see that we are in debt when we get to the bar table side, said Stena Line’s vice president Niclas Mårtensson.

At half past eleven o’clock in the night left the tanker port of Gothenburg – 12 000 tonnes of diesel and petrol on board. The goal was to Halmstad, but outside the island Vinga collided with the Stena Line passenger ferry M / S Stena Jutlandica. The ferry had a large hole in the hull and began to take in water. Tanker boat had to turn back towards Gothenburg and anchor in the sea for examination – with proper damage to the forepeak. The boat is Danish registered of the Danish-Swedish firm Tern Tanks nine boats.

– This is the terrible, even for Stena. It’s disgusting that they have to take out Jutlandica middle of this season, says Tern Tanks President Tryggve Möller, and adds:

– But it’s not some people injured and no oil spills. That is what we must rejoice in, so we grab the second time.

Going through the communication

He says the company along with the Coast Guard and an insurance company will now find out what which occurred during the night.

– We are back up computers, communication everywhere, says Tryggve Möller.

The company was founded in 1904 in Sweden and has been a shipping company since 1972, with Donsö as ursprungsbas. But today, the company is Danish. Headquartered in Skagen and operating office, which handles technology, staffing and operation, located in Sweden. Tryggve Möller do not remember Tern Tanks ship experienced a similar collision.

– We have had close encounters before, but it was probably 10-15 years ago. And there has never been a ferry.

“Everything is too close”

A person would steer the boat from the islands and dropped off at Vinga, and Tryggve Möller think this just may have been made when the ships collided. The boat’s crew consisted of thirteen people. Three inside of the bridge.

– The officers are very experienced and have been with us for many years, so we know him well, says Tryggve Möller.

Should not it come a number of warning signs?

– It is clear that it does and that is what we are looking at now, how it happened. But everything’s close – the islands are near and the boats are near. It is only natural that everything is right beside you, it’s crowded, says Tryggve Möller, and adds:

– The vessels are the modern and new technology as it is supposed not happen anyway but now it has happened and we are examining it now.

“Do not think we are in debt”

The police have launched an investigation into negligence in maritime traffic.

– The tanker had to bow our bar table side. It made a hole in the ferry above water, and we can now say, even under water, said Stena Line’s vice president Niclas Mårtensson.

– We do not speculate on the debt issue. We can only conclude that we become pouch glade. But it is a breakdown the Commission’s assessment of the debt issue.

He adds:

– But I do not see that we are in debt, when we get to the bar table side in sjöled. I do not know the conditions that the other ship sailing into us.

A team is in place to temporarily repair the M / S Stena Jutlandica, so that it can sail to the shipyard in Odense for repair.

– How long it all takes to cook or how much it will cost we do not know until the ferry arrived in dry dock and shipyard makes a judgment, says Niclas Mårtensson.

– But it gets not cheap if you say so. That, combined with that we are up in the high season means that we have to have a bunch of focusing on ship and a being and groups of guests who booked with Jutlantica.
