Man arrested for murder and arson – Aftonbladet

The 25-year-old signed a declaration of love to the young woman on social media.

Later the same day, suspected he might have killed her and set fire to the house.

Now he is suspected of murder and aggravated arson.

Early Monday morning, wrote 25-year-old an open declaration of love to the young woman. He called her his great love – the only one that can make a broken man whole. Less than a day later suspected he have killed her and set fire to the house.

At 18:33 alerted emergency services to the address in central Arvika, where there was a fire in the roof of a house with four apartments.

– We had only a few minutes’ itinerary but when we got there it was a fully developed fire. It went quickly. We tried to walk up an externally-built stairs, but it was too damaged, says Lars-Erik Karlsson.



Man and woman arrested

The firefighters managed to enter through the window upstairs.

– In there was a woman in her bedroom, in bed. The firefighters got her out and handed her directly to the ambulance crew. When she lived, says Lars-Erik Karlsson.

According to police, the 25-year-old woman seriously injured. She died later at the hospital.

The police became suspicious that a crime was behind both the fire and the woman’s injuries.

During the night arrested 25-year-old man in absentia, suspected of murder and aggravated arson – and just before 01 o’clock he was found outside in Arvika and could be arrested.

– We know he and the woman knew each other. There are records of people around, and anything else that has come I can not go into in the current situation, says chief prosecutor Niclas Wargren.
