Swedish company drönargenererade 3d models pull in millions – Week … – Business Week

The Swedish company has not even two years old, but is now making millions from including Angry Birds creator.

Swedish Spot Scale enables property owners and city planners to have accurate and lifelike 3D models of buildings and their surroundings. The company uses drones to gather photo material since, with the help of Spotscales technology, can be transformed into highly realistic 3D models.

The company, which was started just 18 months ago, has now announced that they have taken in 1 million dollars, equivalent to approximately 8.4 million Swedish kronor, in a financing round. It writes Tech.eu.

The capital round led by MOOR Capital, a venture capital firm started by Finnish Rovio founder. In addition to Angry Birds founder’s company also invested Almi Invest and two business angels, writes Tech.eu.

Behind Spot Scale is Louis Emgård who has a background in 3d modeling. Emgård was previously Product Manager at C3 techonologies developing advanced technology to create 3D maps. C3 techonologies was bought in 2011 by Apple for about $ 240 million.
