“Flic” called button which can be attached to it most of which can be programmed to remotely control functions of the phone.

Behind the switch is Stockholm-based Shortcut Labs, one of the companies at this year’s 33- list.

A successful campaign on Indiegogo, a site Crowdfunding, has given the company six million dollars and orders for 60,000 keys.

The deliveries will start this week. New Technology did a quick test of two of the very first shipped from the manufacturing in Malaysia.

It is noticeable that the company has put much effort on the design. The buttons are good-looking, feels solid and comes in several colors. When you press them they respond to light up.

The first step is to download the app. I test it for iOS that is still in beta.

(Pranav Kosuri, one of the company’s founder, points out that the development of Android come longer and that the app contains more features.)

Then, just to hook up the buttons via Bluetooth, which runs without problems. It is possible to add three functions of each “Flic”. I select some of the standard functions that are already in the app.

A simple click enables or disables the one of my playlists on Spotify .

Double Click and phone howls so I can find it.

Am I button sent a message to my husband that I will soon be home.

Time to test if it works. I pressed again.

The music kicks off.

Although the other functions work without problems. I also test for example, use “Flic” as trigger for the camera.

In addition to the complete functionality that is constantly becoming more go there To create your own. Among other things, the service ifttt. (To be released publicly this week.)

A package of three “flics” costs 99 dollars, meaning a unit price of just 300 crowns. If you choose a package of six pieces price drops to just over SEK 200.

The price seems too high, but if sales take off and the price will down while there will be more and more functions are not that stupid to have a button as a shortcut for it as you usually do with your mobile. Or – as in my case – finding it at all.
