Technical examination can not prove cause of fire – Western Sweden – Gothenburg … – Göteborgs-Posten

Many of the residents are still shocked by the severe fire in multi-family housing. The cause of the fire can be switched mobile charger, but it can not prove on the technical investigation.

It was early on Sunday morning that the residents of an apartment block in Lilla Edet was awakened by the fire in one of the adjacent apartments.

The cause of the fire is believed to be a connected mobile charger that caught fire. Police and technicians have examined the spot where the fire started, but the apartment is completely destroyed and the cause of the fire has not been determined.

Police believe it is very likely that it is mobile charger have caused the fire and has therefore decided not to investigate the matter further. They do not suspect that a crime has been committed.

– We have no reason to believe that this was anything other than an accident, says Örjan Magnusson at police in Trollhättan.

Daniel Zetterlund slept in the apartment next door when the fire began to spread. He was awakened by her neighbor who smashed his bedroom window to make sure he got out of the apartment before the fire spread.

– It was lucky that he woke me up, otherwise you do not know what could have been happen.

He has had contact with some of the neighbors who also had their houses destroyed and according to him they seem to feel good, but is still shocked by the incident.

For Daniel Zetterlund is future uncertain. His apartment is burned out, and now he must live with their parents but says he is doing well despite the circumstances.

Lilla Edet has been in contact with several of the residents after the accident. It did not take more than two hours before their crisis team was in place at the fire to help the residents.

Peter Jimme Fors is deputy mayors in Lilla Edet, and he is pleased with their effort after the fire:

– The victims were offered to be at the retirement home, where they received food and help to contact their insurance company.
