Intel Silvermont routed to compete with the mobile ARM market and will have tripled performance over previous Atom platform (eg Z2580) according to the company itself. A scaled-down, low-power architecture with the performance would clearly be ideal for the mobile market.
Silvermont will integrate a new , optimized technology for instruction cycles and will then be able to deliver high single-threaded performance. Technology should also be easy to scale up for use in, for example, computer center, with up to eight cores per system. Everything sounds very promising if it is possible that Intel wants. The technology is expected to be launched towards the end of this year and will then have to compete with several counterparties such as Qualcomm and NVIDIA. Source: FudzillaComments
