Networks adapt to the cloud - IDG.se

Software Defined Networking, Cloud Services and virtualization are some of the watchwords at Interop networking conference where all the industry’s top names flocked this week. The hottest trend in recent times, it is called software-defined networking, Wooden, where turnouts built, company-specific applications are replaced with control from a more standardized server.

In Arista Networks new range includes gear 7500E which has 96 network ports for 100 Gbit / s per chassis and the supplier states that the new product can handle more than one million virtual machines. 7500E is priced at around 700 000.

Among HP’s news that supports Wooden labeled Flex Fabric 12900 which is available with 256 ports of 40 Gb / s and 768 ports of 10 Gb / s Additionally featuring HP a virtual PBX, Flex Fabric VirtualSwitch 5900v, which has features to relieve the physical switch.

Although Brocade invests on the virtual switches and rolls now a series from the beginning developed by the company Vyatta as Brocade recently acquired. Vyatta 5400 Vrouter is supposed to use in data centers with a high proportion of virtualized products and supports virtualization technologies from both VMware, Microsoft, Citrix and Red Hat.
